Eco-innovation (EI) represents a transformative approach to minimizing environmental impacts while boosting economic benefits, driving the energy sector towards achieving Net Zero Emissions (NZE) by 2050. By enabling cleaner energy production processes, improving resource and operational efficiency, monitoring carbon performance, and advancing carbon neutrality, EI plays a vital role in sustainability. However, the lack of specialized reporting tools to capture and share the energy sector’s economic and environmental performance data has created significant gaps in information availability. To address this, we are developing an AI-driven Eco-Innovation Performance Index specifically designed for CO2 emission reduction in the Malaysian energy sector. This innovative prototype integrates cutting-edge software tools, a robust Graphical User Interface (GUI), and a Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) to collect, store, and analyze energy firms’ performance data. Leveraging AI capabilities like Natural Language Processing (NLP), the system transforms public opinion into actionable insights, empowering stakeholders with real-time performance metrics.
